  1. We are issued 1 huge rolling trash can (or more if you request them or have way to much garbage every week they will just come drop another in front of your house).

If your can overflows and you sit the bags neatly they will dump your can then put all your bags in the can and dump it again.  (has the claw thing grabs can and dumps in top of truck)

Big items - furniture, tv, junk etc. a different truck will come by at some point and pick all of it up.  They have a route and just drive by so your stuff might be picked up tomorrow or 1 day next week. '

Same thing with tree limbs/stick.  Make a pile and the claw truck will drive by and pick them up.

In the fall and sometime early early spring the leaf vacuum truck will come by and suck up leave you have piled on the curb...not on the road but on the very edge.

All of this is for the set price of $20 a month and it is automatically added to your water bill. Trash (can) pick up is once a week.

Alot of times I have put stuff out and it will be gone an hour later.  People drive around looking for junk.  One man's junk is another man's treasure.

10 Things I Hate About You

    Breakfast Club

Just to name a few  ;)   Depends on my mood as to what kind of movie I am in the mood for.

  3. Most of time we get together with dh's family for big dinner (ham & all the sides) and usually an egg hunt for the kiddos.  This year there has been some talk about a simpler meal (fine by me).

Some years we haven't gone to bil's.  If we don't go we just stay home and hang out.

I just got word it won't be a simple meal.  Ham & all the fixing.  I received a text telling me everything I was to to bring.

  4. My day is alot like  :smash:  :banghead:   :scared:  :banghead:   :banghead:

We started out with school that no one seems able to concentrate on.  So I decided today would be a good day to clean. Hey if you don't want to do school work then you can deep clean your room  ;)

So far kiddos have been cleaning but sure are taking a long time and are saying "all done" when 1/2 the room looks like it did before they started  :toetap05:

I have gone to the attic looking for shorts for ds2.  While up there found a mess that "helpful" people made when they took stuff upstairs after Christmas

I think I will go fix a pitcher of margaritas and go hide out somewhere.  :cheers2:

  5. Mine are in the older bunch and things vary but here are some past & will be present items

    shared items

    video game

    dvd

    wiffle balls

    wiffle ball bat

    individual basket items

    candy -- of course

    beef jerky

    sunglasses

    sports type necklace

    sports cards

    duct tape

    deck of cards

    air soft bb's

    duck call

fishing stuff - hooks, lures, poles, etc

  6. I drive and usually the kids go with me.   Depending on what I need is where I go.  I don't love shopping but I don't hate it either (hate the paying part  :glare: ).

Where I go depends on what I am needing and what is on sale.  I try to really stock up on sale items so my shopping is generally for perishables and sale items.  We don't have a lot of choices around here either.  The high priced grocery (only buy the sale items here), the cheaper grocery and walmart.

  7. Slice & dip in egg wash then in bread crumbs that has some parm cheese mixed in.

    Fry or bake

    Eat like this

    ,,, or after cooking...

Put a small amount of marinara sauce in the bottom of a casserole dish, then a layer of eggplant, a little more marinara, a little mozz cheese.

Keep layering like this until you run out of eggplant.

    End with cheese on top.

    Bake until bubbly.

  8. Just remember it is a season and soon will pass.

We do alot of sandwiches or something that can be easily packed up and taken with us.  The crockpot gets used alot and cereal becomes a regular late evening meal (especially if we ate an early supper).

I try not to stress about not eating the most healthy meals during this "season".  I try to make up for it after spring sports with really healthy meals.

  9. Chicken Enchilada Chowder

1 15oz. can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 14 oz. can diced tomatioes, drained
    1 15oz. can corn, drained
    1/2 c. chopped onion
1 14 oz. can enchilada sauce
    1 packet taco seasoning
1 10.75 oz. can cream of chicken soup
    1 c. milk
4- 4 oz. chicken breast boneless and skinless
    1 c. shredded pepperjack cheese
    1 c. shredded cheddar cheese
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper

Optional: avacado, sour cream, tortilla chips for toppings

In a crockpot, combine beans, tomatoes, corn, enchilada sauce, taco seasoning, onion, soup, and milk. Stir well. Add chicken breasts. Make sure to push them down so they are submerged in the liquid. cover and cook on low heat for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours. Before serving take out chicken, shred and return to soup. Stir in shredded cheese til melted. Serve

  10. Rinse off bbq sauce if you can & shred chicken

In a big bowl mix together

    shredded chicken

    1 can black beans

    1 can corn, drained

    1 package taco seasoning

    1 jar salsa

    1 package corn chips

shredded cheese -- do not mix this in

Spray casserole dish, pour mixture in.

    Top with shredded cheese.

Cover and bake 350* for 20-25 minutes

  11. Chicken Enchiladas

    4-6 boneless skinless chicken breasts

    1 jar salsa

    1/4 tsp. ground cumin

    1 block cream cheese

    Mexican blend shredded cheese

    flour tortillas

Place chicken in crock pot.  Pour salsa over chicken.

Cook on low about 6 hours or high about 2 hours - check chicken to make sure it's done

Shred chicken & dump back in salsa (or use a potato masher in the crockpot to shred)

    Add cream cheese & cumin.

Once cream cheese has melted stir well

Spoon into tortillas, roll & place seam side down in casserole dish.

Any leftover mixture pour over rolled tortillas.

    Sprinkle with shredded cheese.

    Bake 350* until cheese melts.

This involves more than the crockpot but it isn't hard.

  12. Just stay calm with him.  It may take forever but him knowing you don't lose your patience with him will go a long way.  I know it is hard.

Also maybe a "go bag" for him.  A backpack with a complete change of clothes, toothbrush, toothpaste, flashlight or 2 (varying sizes are good). bottle of water, granola bars, small 1st aid kit (travel size toiletries), small blanket, light sticks (they have ones that use batteries in camping section too), whistle, small dice game &/or deck of cards,   Also if he has any small electronics make sure there is a pocket or place to toss those in when storms do come up.  And yes a bike helmet or baseball helmet stored near the bag.

Maybe having his own personal bag of stuff will help reassure him.  I know it sounds strange but it helped my ds.  The one that went from not worrying to freaking out big time.
