  1. No idea but I had never even heard of the motion activated sprinkler until this morning.  They had a thing on the weather channel about it.   After they talked about it one of the ladies on there said she wanted to set one up out front by the sidewalk.  Then sit on the porch with a drink and watch the action

  2. Others planning events( I am required to be at) that cost me mega amounts of money (which I don't have)

Cost of food and other necessities

Can no one else see the trash overflowing?

Can no one else put their dishes in the sink?  How about actually wash dishes too?

Why can't I lose weight?  (ok I really know the answer to this but it is still frustrating)

Why can't I declutter this overflowing house?

Why does the junky house seem to bother no one but me?

  3. So are they different than a bb gun? What is the difference?

I thought they shot something soft! lol

To quote Tim Hawkins  "there is nothing airish  or soft about it"

My kids have several different airsoft guns.  They cannot purchase any of the guns or ammo but I can buy it for them.

They do have "battles" with others but everyone must be in agreement and eye protection.  They just got the full face masks and that makes me feel better.

  4. Come and visit me, because I DO want to hear all about it - AND see the pictures. :D I think traveling and living in different cultures is not only fascinating, but very important to at least learn about if you can't do it yourself.

    :iagree:

    :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:

    and

:seeya:  :seeya:  :seeya: I would love to hear about your experiences. I'm always too shy to ask questions (I think I'm rude) when I talk to others who have lived in other countries, but inside I have millions of questions.

    Best wishes.

    :iagree:

I have only lived in the town I am in now. (born here & never left).  I have been to a few places in the US on vacation but never outside the country.  I would love to listen to your stories and see your pictures.  I "travel" through others and books  :001_smile:   People tell better stories than books too.

  5. Loving this thread and reading everyone's goals.  Here are a few of mine:

declutter - we have way to much junk

    organize house

    read alot

work on Spanish with dc & myself

lose weight - yeah this is on every "new season" list

learn to cook "new" foods - or same foods differently

    get a better school plan

    enjoy the summer

  6. I have all kinds of bags.

    $1 bags from various stores

a couple $2 insulated bags from a local grocery

some nice big ones from Sam's (2packs - long & short handles)

tall sturdy ones from tractor suppy

and several various bags I picked up at yard sales for 25c each - thought they would be good grocery bags

  7. BBQ nachos or potatoes -  use the pulled pork --

tortilla chips, nacho cheese, bbq, bbq sauce, jalapenos

for potatoes just use a baked potato in place of the chips

Throw some bell pepper strips and onion strips in crockpot.  Then toss in chicken breasts.  Nothing else.  Cook on low about 6 hours.  Cut chicken into strips or shred.  Serve on tortillas.  (got that here and quickly became a favorite)

Anything grilled -- hamburgers, hot dogs, pork chops, steak, bologna (add bbq sauce), veggies etc.

Dip sandwiches -- I usually double this as my family loves leftovers of this

put a roast in the crockpot (can be frozen).

mix together 1 packet au jus, 1 packet dry italian dressing & 1 can beef broth

    pour mixture over roast

    cook on low 8-10 hours

slice & serve on rolls with provolone cheese (or not)

    use sauce to dip sandwiches

    Cereal -- keeping it real

Pancakes -- again just being real

    Salad or taco salad

    Jambalaya

Ice cream -- hey it's hot outside

    Crock Pot Beef and Broccoli

    roast, sliced into thin strips

    1 cup beef broth

    1/2 cup soy sauce

    1/3 cup brown sugar

    1 tablespoon sesame oil

    3 garlic cloves, minced

    2 tablespoons cornstarch

2 tablespoons sauce from the crock pot after being cooked

Fresh broccoli florets (as many as desired) -- I use frozen, nuke a couple mins and add to pot

    Hot cooked rice

    Directions

    1. Place beef in a crock pot.

    2. In a small bowl, combine broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, oil, and garlic. Pour over beef. Cook on low for 6-8 hours.

    3. In a cup, stir cornstarch and sauce form the crock pot until smooth. Add to crock pot. Stir well to combine.

    4. Add broccoli to the crock pot. Stir to combine.

    5. Cover and cook an additional 30 minutes on high (the sauce has to boil for it to thicken).

    6. Serve over hot cooked rice.

    tool kit

    kiddie scissors

    benadryl

    tylenol

    salt & pepper shakers

jump starter -  thing that will jump off a vehicle without needing another vehicle also will air up a tire

    camp chairs

    ball equipment

    collapsible cooler

    reusable shopping bags

Yeah we look like we live out of the van, especially during ball season

  9. The local owned grocery here use to have sales like 2 for $5.  If you bought 1 you got charged 2.50.  Then without announcing they changed it. So if you bought 1 it would be full price.  So you went in expecting to get the item for 2.50 and ended up paying $3.50.  Between that and changing some of their other policies people were not real happy.

  10. I just had a baby and he is wonderful and healthy and beautiful!

    Congratulations!!  :hurray:

We're expecting baby #10. I'm 24 wks but haven't told anyone yet because I don't want to hear the nasty responses and comments I've heard the past 6 times I've shared baby news. Guess I need to spill the beans soon, it's too hot to hide under a sweatshirt anymore ;)

    Congratulations!!  :hurray:

Babies are definitely good news

  11. Good advice  :hurray:   I really need to be following all this advice.

Just a quick question for OP.  Do you know someone with a business that has a dumpster that would let you dump some bags in the trash so you could stay on a roll with cleaning out.

  12. I have boys but along those lines.  We always kept ds hair cut super short.  One year he decided he wanted to let it grow out.  So I figured it was only hair and he needed a way to "express" himself.  It looked like a shaggy mop and really drove the grandparents nuts.  I didn't like it either but kept quiet.  After a year or so he tried a new shorter style and liked it. (looked much better too).

Fast forward a few years.  Ds is looking at some old pictures and says "man my hair looked horrible"  I just grinned and said "you told me you liked it and it was cool"

Now same boy is growing a beard.  Do I like it? NO (and neither do the grandparents)  but again it is his outlet for free expression so I am trying to keep my mouth closed.  Some days it is sooooooo hard though

  13. Cake, cake, cake.....we want cake

Yeah I said we are done with school.  Now we can really work on the house. Uh yeah that is totally happening   Most of the reason it isn't falls on me.  I just don't want to do anything.

Please someone kick me in the rear

  14. I think it sounds like plenty of meat but just a note.  Unless you know the littles will eat hotdogs don't assume that is what they will eat.  My dc loved steak and ribs from the time they were tiny.  Put out at platter with hotdogs, ribs and steak and mine would go for the steak and/or ribs.
