Hurry, if you are interested. Amazon price is 229.99. Lightning deal is 184.99. Sorry I don't know how to link without it going to my cart specifically. I don't own this machine but have an older model. ETA: Aargh! My first post on these new forums and I have a typo in the subject line. That's what I get for typing in a hurry and getting this deal posted before it ran out. Don't know if the new boards let you change a subject line.......

I'm still keeping my R&S 8 set, too. I also have older editions of these on my shelf: Rod and Staff English Handbook The Gregg Reference Manual by William A. Sabin(9th edn - I've had this one for a long time) -

Welcome back. Thanks for the update. I often wonder how some posters, who are no longer around on this board, are doing. I know some are on Facebook but I'm not so.......I'm left wondering. -

If I set up an account for ds (currently in 9th grade), do I need to have a separate one as a parent? Does signing up mean that we will be flooded with more junk mail? Ds has already taken the ACT in 7th and SAT in 8th through the Northwestern Talent Search and we regularly get mail for prep schools, boarding schools and colleges. I don't want more stuff to recycle! What are the advantages of signing up for an account other than registering for the PSAT, SAT in the future? Thanks.

The Advent Jesse Tree by Dean Meador Lambert The Handel's Messiah Family Advent Reader by Donna W. Payne and Fran Lenzo I haven't purchased this one yet but hope to use it this year: Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus Edited by Nancy Guthrie. We used her other book Jesus, Keep me Near the Cross during Lent earlier this year.

One of the major reasons I have clung to my old 2005 XP computer is because it has Outlook which I have used mainly for email. I really don't want to shell out $$$ for Outlook on my laptop especially when I only use it for email and nothing else. Why did MS stop offering Outlook in their Home/Student Office bundle??? At least offer Outlook Express like they used to. Ah well.... If I switch to another mail program will I need to get a new email address or is there a way to still keep my current email address. Is there a way to make the transition smoother? I hate losing all my folders in my Personal email. Ugh! This non-techy could use your help. :tongue_smilie: Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the helpful info. I'll be on the lookout for a used TI84. Are there things I need to watch out for in buying a used calc. Is there a possibility that some functions will work while others won't. Since we've never used one, how would I check to make sure everything is in good working order.

Sweet deal on TTC's The English Novel
TeaTotaler replied to swimmermom3's topic in High School and Self-Education Board
For us the audio works better - it gives us more flexibility. We can listen in the car while driving to music lessons etc or on trips so that dh can listen too. Of course, the Art courses or Astronomy lectures make more sense in DVD format. For some reason I purchased the Great Pharoahs of Anc Egypt on DVD and it is still on the shelf in shrink wrap. I would suggest borrowing a few from the library if you can, in the different formats and evaluating which works best for you and your dc. I usually scan the reviews to see if folks strongly recommend the DVD otherwise I stick with audio. -
Thanks for the replies. A related question about graphing calculators: Ds is currently in 9th grade, should I purchase a TI84 or would getting a TI 89 serve him better for a few more years. I didn't even know that the TI 89 existed until I checked Jann's link to MathTutorDVD.com. I should probably start a different thread about the graphing calc but thought I'd post in this thread first. Thanks.

I just recently purchased an Acer Laptop from Costco and I'm trying to decide if I should purchase the extended warranty from SquareTrade. The Costco warranty is for 2 yrs but the Sq Trade one would cover drops and spills for 3 years from the date of purchase. I have never purchased an extended warranty but this is also the first laptop I have ever owned. Would you buy the Square Trade warranty? Has anyone had experience filing a claim with them? Thanks in advance.

Thanks. Glad to hear you have had a good experience with your Acer desktop. -
Sorry for not being clear. I was wondering if it was necessary to purchase the graphing lab workbook from Kolbe to learn how to use the graphing calculator or does the calculator itself come with sufficient instructions. I have no idea what is inside the Kolbe workbook since I can't see inside it. On another note: does the Kolbe graphing lab workbook indicate which calculator you need -TI83,TI84 or something else. Thanks.
