  1. This is a Pinafore: (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.M.S._Pinafore)
  2. Well, I am wearing a corduroy one as I write, but then I am terribly posh and impossibly chic. ;)
  3. Cloth is quicker and easier and more effective, but you could get a China cap and use either a pestle or a sturdy ladle to push out liquid.
  4. It's what all homeschoolers in America wear, though usually in denim. ;)
  5. In fairness, I only use cooked yolks in my biscuits. :) Are your scones made with yeasted dough or is it quick bread dough? ETA. Slow typer, didn't see your previous post. Interesting. So I guess the yeast is the difference between your scones and fry bread.
  6. Guess it depends who is doing the cooking: my scones do not have eggs but my biscuits do. ;)
  7. I am curious as to why you think this. It hasnt been our experience a all.
  8. We are a pacifist household, but got history buff DS the book "Mini Weapons of Mass Destruction 3: Build Siege Weapons of the Dark Ages." I am hoping it is educational. ;)
  9. Emily Post to the rescue: http://emilypost.com/advice/mens-names-and-titles/
  10. How about Matteo? You lose your H, but it would be difficult to mispronounce. ;) I love the name Matthias in French and German, but dislike it in English, so I hear your pain. But I think you can reasonably expect Americans to pronounce it with a theta sound rather than a T sound.
  11. If you want to keep them more than a week, put them in the fridge. For longer storage, you can freeze them. Which reminds me I have some fresh dates in the freezer... I love eating dates as they are, but a favorite recipe in my family is Lebanese date cakes (I bet googling will yield a recipe). You can probably find mahleb at a middle eastern market.
  12. The Phantom is an excellent drone, extremely stable. More than you want to spend, but you may be able to get an older model closer to your price range. I'm of the opinion that it is often more cost effective to spend a little more for a much better product.
  13. Susi garlic press (comes in handy when I don't want to get my knife and board dirty) Mexican lime squeezer.
  14. Yes. It is pronounced "A.A.Ron," Laura. ;)
  15. Yes, I agree we should march in lock step, otherwise people might make fun of our children and it could ruin their lives. Individuality is overrated. And what about all of these people who homeschool? WTF. They should just put their kids in school so they can be like everyone else, dammit!
  16. Wha? Wait! The earth is more than 6,000 years old?!
  17. I'm so sorry. You are in my thoughts.
  18. Rural Juror! Whenever I get words jumbled up DH says it to me. LOL. Sylvester is a lovely name, if you think about it and if you can separate it from Stallone and Puddy Tat. I prefer Sylvain, though.
  19. He'd never have anything to lose with a name like that. ;)
  20. I'm so sorry. I can't even imagine what you must be going through. Holding you and your family and particularly your sister in the light.
