  1. @marbel just google Wrangler jackets or Levi’s jackets and lots of denim on denim photos would appear including same color denims 🙂 e.g. https://www.wrangler.com/shop/womens-wrangler-retro-sherpa-lined-western-denim-jacket-LWJ320.html https://www.wrangler.com/shop/womens-girlfriend-denim-jacket-in-nashville-112343568.html?merchCategory=WRG_WOMEN_OUTERWEAR https://www.wrangler.com/shop/womens-wrangler-memory-maker-jacket-in-carbon-112324957.html https://www.levi.com/US/en_US/clothing/women/outerwear/original-trucker-jacket/p/299450070 https://www.levi.com/US/en_US/clothing/women/outerwear/sherpa/original-sherpa-trucker-jacket/p/361360000
  2. Not here. Denim jacket with jeans is very common even in winter (ours is mild). We see all kinds of color for denim jackets; red, peach, yellow, white, faded blue, indigo. For jeans we see faded blue, indigo, white, black, faded black. The youngsters here rock the look with a cropped exercise top, cropped jacket, ripped jeans. @crazyforlatin I think denim on denim was already mainstream in the 80s. I still have my clothes from high school (80s) and college (90s) days. My husband does too. Lots of denim shirts at Levi’s outlet.
  3. This thread has quite a few TMI replies but seems relevant https://www.quora.com/A-friend-of-mine-claims-that-a-half-hour-after-eating-lettuce-she-gets-diarrhea-and-it-has-chunks-of-lettuce-Ive-read-that-the-quickest-a-food-can-get-through-the-digestive-tract-is-6-8-hours-Is-her-claim-possible-And-if-so-how-does-it-work-through-her-system-so-fast
  4. I call them soft toys. Had to google stuffies. I guess my answer is a yes and no. The giraffe soft toy in my avatar is sometimes on the headrest portion of my bed. I roll around when sleeping so any soft toy would have landed on the floor by morning. Blåhaj the shark is permanent resident on my younger son’s bed.
  5. It might be the level/amount of sulphites present. I have seen staff cut open large packs of frozen vegetables and pour directly into the woks or bins. https://www.ifsqn.com/forum/index.php/topic/19952-allergen-management-sodium-metabisulphite-used-to-wash-products/?ampmode=1 “in the previous audit a non conformance was raised stating that sodium metabisulphite was not taken in to account as a allergen. i am un sure how to rectify this as we use it im potatoes, cabbages and a salad washer machine for the lettuce packs.” “In Australia, our national legislation around allergens requires mandatory declarations if the product contains added sulphites in concentrations of 10mg/kg or more. You would also need to check any customer requirements for limits as well if they have been documented as part of contracts or audit criteria's.”
  6. Someone on Reddit mentioned sodium metabisulphite is used for shredded lettuces and other vegetables to prevent browning.
  7. That’s how I dress when the weather is warm enough that I don’t need a parka. I wear a T-shirt though. I do blue on blue and black on blue. Kind of like how Bon Jovi dress for performances when he does denim on denim. My denim jackets are actually men’s small (or XS) size ones from Helmut Lang, Rag & Bone, Zadig & Voltaire.
  8. If we know it is going to be a loud sneeze, we would say excuse me if we could before “running” to another room (if at home) or outside (if in a cafe) to sneeze. If I have a violent sneeze coming and I hold it in, my face is going to look very bad. DS18 had a relatively loud sneeze today at community college while doing his homework in the study area. We heard a few amused “bless you” from neighboring cubicles.
  9. If I want to make bone broth or equivalent later, I would pull the meat off first before plating. Else the person eating can diy. Oxtail soup is high in collagen which is useful not just for beauty.
  10. Especially useful for anemia due to time of the month. That and pork liver.
  11. @KungFuPanda chloropheniramine is the only thing that greatly reduces my nose running like a tap syndrome since I was a kid. I buy the Flonase tablets because of that. DS18 does that too. When it gets really bad, he use the charming toilet paper roll when at home.
  12. @Rosie_0801 the most convenient way is to use a slow cooker or pressure cooker and cook it like a stew. Chinese oxtail soup is meant for nutrition, not meant to taste good. I’ll go for the pork blood soup if there is a supply chain issue as people rarely buy pork blood at supermarkets so supply and prices are usually good.
  13. Not free where my DS19 is at. He has to install an app for the washer and dryer. The advantage of the app is that it tells him when the washer and dryer are done. He rarely runs a load just like when I was in college. His campus is cash free so we got him a secured credit card when he turned 18 to use on campus. We also got him a new cellphone since his cellphone was more than 3 years old and has no more Andriod OS updates The most important skill for my boys is to learn to advocate for themselves, whether it is health or academic. They learn to advocate for themselves academically while doing dual enrollment classes. They went through the degree audit to get their associate degrees. Health wise, my kid add me as "authorized user" on their healthcare accounts so that I can help them look if they need me to. Financially, we don't qualify for any aid so the student bills are hyper easy to comprehend. @pehp I get my quarters from the coin changing machines next to those coin operated rides. If I need more quarters, I could change at the bank.
  14. Our accents vary depending on whether we are speaking formally, casually or jokingly. My husband’s accent varies the least but he tends to speak more formally at all times. My kids chinese accent is americanized when speaking casually but less when being formal. Their german accent has less variation since they rarely speak german in casual environment. Their japanese accent has even less variation.
  15. Whoever is loud has the most congested nose or throat. So not a gender thing. Same goes for my relatives.
  16. @Ausmumof3 I think of being bored as finally having unscheduled “me time”. It means my todo list for the day is done and I have time to just be bored. To think about and do what I like to do to relax, or to catch a nap. It is kind of like relatives would ask when I was a kid “what did you do today?” and I would sometimes answer “nothing, I just relax”. I am not the stereotypical type A personality, I like my “sloth time”. The only time I would worry about someone being bored would be if the person suffers from depression. I have friends that can’t be bored for long because their mind would spiral into demoralizing thoughts.
  17. That sounds good enough. Having time to be bored can be a luxury too. Does your son have anything to do? I do feel that there are times in life where people are in a holding pattern and it is not necessary a bad thing, it is just part of life. When my kids don’t have classes, I get them to help with things like decluttering their outgrown clothes from their wardrobe.
  18. https://www.primalkitchen.com/pages/750avooilfaq “Primal Kitchen is announcing a voluntary recall of approximately 2,060 cases of three code dates of Primal Kitchen Avocado Oil (750mL) because the glass may be prone to breakage, causing the product to spill … Products included in the recall include: 750mL Primal Kitchen Avocado Oil Individual package UPC of 8-55232-00719-4, Case UPC of 108552320071910000 “Best When Used By” date of 19 AUG 2025, 20 AUG 2025, 21 AUG 2025. No other sizes, formats or batches are affected by the packaging issue.”
  19. iCloud, OneDrive internet bill cellphone bill I purposely charge the $3 monthly iCloud bill to my secured credit so that it would be a convenient way to make sure that there is something to pay for every month when the statement cuts.
  20. Yes. That is what we understand from reading our free credit reports and it tallies with what various bank mortgage officers told us about ways to improve credit score. I have used like 90% of my credit limit on my secured credit because it has a low credit limit. I just pay most of it off before the statement cuts. Within a year of having a secured credit card, I get many spam mails from Capital One, Wells Fargo, Amex and others.
  21. What was explained to me back then was that each month, the credit card issuer would report on whether payment was made and how much credit was used. So having monthly payments and having a low balance when the statement is cut are helpful. When my husband and I look at our free credit reports from the credit bureau, we see a check mark for each month we pay on time. We didn’t have check marks for the months we didn’t use the card. We have Amex, Visa and Mastercard
  22. I have a secured credit card for over a decade. It helps to pay off to keep the spending around 33% or below when the statement cuts. Just make sure not to pay off everything so that when the statement cuts, there is some amount to pay.
  23. When I was a kid back in the 70s/80s, cigars was a status symbol though some display cigars like people display expensive wine. It is like the poorer people would be smoking the cheapest type of Malboro cigarettes, while those with more "fun money" would buy Dunhill cigarettes. Then there were people who roll their own cigarettes because it is cheaper or because they prefer to. Smoking a pipe was seen as more affluent that smoking cigarettes.
  24. My brother who is less than 6 feet tall barely feet on the 3rd row of Sienna or Odyssey. Having the third row flat for the double bass and letting your tall kids sit in the second row would be more comfortable.
