  1. I have interstitial cystitis and your symptoms do sound similar to mine but I had constant problems that did not go away. It is very hard to find a urologist who has dealt IC. If you do not want further testing, the best thing you can do is to avoid the foods that bring on the pain. Cranberry juice is going to cause pain. This is a great website with tons of information: http://www.ic-network.com/ :grouphug: I was put on Elmiron and it has made a world of difference in my life. A few years ago I was in pain daily now I'm mostly pain-free. Although, my bladder is only 1/3 of the size it should be because of the IC so I'm never going to feel totally normal.
  2. I just ordered Dr. Dan's Lip Balm for my son. His dermatologist suggested it. You have to order it on-line. So far, it seems to be helping quite a bit. http://www.drdanslipbalm.com/
  3. Wow, this thread has made me feel better. :) Most of the time I feel like I'm the only one that has family issues. I have three older sisters and I'm only in contact with one. One sister's husband tried to cast a demon out of me and told me I was the root cause of our family problems , not the alcohol abuse or emotional abuse but me. Obviously, that relationship has pretty much been dead since that incident. They like to send me shower and wedding invitations so I that I can send gifts to their five kids but beyond that we have no relationship. My other sister up and moved to my state and used me to get settled and then dropped me. She actually moved in with her boyfriend and didn't tell me that she left her rental that I helped her move into. I'm in some contact with the last sister but she is tight with the others so it is awkward a lot of the time. Life is hard... I pray my children have healthier and happier relationships when they are older.
  4. Thanks for the advice. Looks like I've got some work to do.
  5. Last week we had a nor'easter hit our area. Some of the carpet around our back door became wet and unfortunately I didn't realize it until a day after the rain stopped. It had rained for three days. Now I've tried to dry it out without pulling it up and it smells. After it was fairly dry I shampooed the area but it still smells. What can I do?
  6. No, but we receive a letter every year for our daughter... sorry I can't help.
  7. Thank you all for the great advice! I'm off to Home Depot. :auto:
  8. I'm trying to decide if we should purchase a freezer for our garage. I've been able to get by without one for many years but my schedule for this year is going to make cooking dinner difficult. I'll be taking my oldest dd to a ballet school 45 minutes from home five days a week. That means I'll be gone around dinner time most school days. I'm thinking that I'll try to make meals ahead and freeze them. I've not done this in the past so I'm wondering how well it will work. Does anyone have any advice?
  9. A few months ago we purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher from Lowes. It was the least expensive of the KitchenAid brand. The most important feature for us was that it would be quiet. We are very happy with our choice. It cleans great and is so much quieter than our GE was.:)
  10. Bonefish Grill... is a favorite of ours but I've heard good things about the Blue Talon Bistro near the historic area.
  11. Yes, the best vacation by far for our family. We have rented in the outer banks of NC a few times.
  12. I've had success here: http://www.maakenterprises.com/ The prices were the cheapest I could find.
  13. I'll be there on Friday. :) It has been a few years since I've gone and I'm looking forward to it.
  14. Well, my dh called the HOA office to complain. They are stating that although they never told us and approved our fence with no conditions that the front needs to be flat not stepped like the rest of the fence. They never told us or gave us any written advice on how the fence needed to look before we put it up. There are other fences that are stepped in the front but are vinyl not wood. I'm so frustrated... my dh is calling our lawyer to see what we need to do... They were so rude when they came to the door, acting like we'd committed a crime. :glare:
  15. Oh, yes... the reason we wanted to put up a fence was that our neighbor was planting, mowing, building on OUR property.
  16. Thank you... I think I will take your advice!
  17. That isn't the issue... we are finished with fence and NOW they are complaining!
  18. Once I was told I didn't return a book that I knew I had. So, I went to the library and found it on the shelf. :001_smile:
  19. Yes, we filled out a form and mailed it for the architectural committee to approve or not. They did approve it and sent the forms back to us.
  20. We put up a privacy fence in May after getting HOA approval. After we had put all the posts in the ground a HOA member came to our home and asked us to not put the panels up as there was a complaint that one side of the fence was too far forward. He had approved our fence and said that if we needed to move it he would do it because it was his fault. A few days later he called and said it was fine and we could put up the panels. Now we've had the fence up since Memorial Day weekend and another HOA guy(the president) comes to my door last night and asks me when we are going to curve the front of the fence? I said we weren't and he said it needs to be unless it is a dog eared fence. I said IT IS. He tries to tell me it isn't and was completely rude. My dh was at scouts with my son so I told him he'd have to talk it over with him at a later time. So, finally my question... if we had approval with a drawing and description and we followed it exactly how can they complain? This is our first issue with the HOA after four years living here. When we first bought our house there were basically no rules since then they have voted and passed many rules. We are very frustrated!:glare:
  21. We live a little north of Williamsburg and love it. When we first moved here ten years ago we lived in Hampton. I grew up in the country and Hampton was too busy for me but it was convenient to everything. The winters are mild compared to where I grew up and l love that. The summer is a bit hot but that is really only for a few months.
  22. My experience was that even though we had religious exemption the school district still requested that we inform them each August if we were still homeschooling. I did send a letter each year but when we moved to a different school district four years ago I stopped.
