  1. Yeah, in my family, for sure. We’d probably just start cleaning it. lol
  2. I wanted to add , I asked them their more specific favorite parts and my 12 year old said westward expand and my 10 year old said he liked learning about inventors such as Edison and the Wright Brothers
  3. It’s ok too. I just chose American history because it has been their favorite overall, BUT they just enjoy history in general. We already read Matchlock Gun and Witch of Blackbird Pond, but not sign of the Beaver. I will get that one for sure.
  4. Well…we just finished up going through a full history cycle. I thought we would do a year of geography next, BUT life is busy right now, so I thought I’d hold off until the start of the school year. My boys really enjoyed American history so I thought I’d get a stack of books for them to read through for the rest of the year. Heavy on something enjoyable.
  5. What are your favorite American history book? This is for my 10 and 12 year old sons.
  6. I feel like he is flying through the milestones. I feel like my others were closer to 1 before walking. Yes! It feels like he was just born and now I’m planning his first birthday party.
  7. I know. It goes too fast. He is 10 months old.
  8. 🥹 I’ll share a pic from the park today.
  9. No help at all because I insisted. I see the grandma’s in my family almost trying to be mom to the babies and I said to myself NO WAY. My babies are mine and I’m doing it ALL for them. I’m proud to say I did everything for my babies. Dh was always there, but I feel awesome postpartum and didn’t really need any help.
  10. YES! I should have mentioned this. We were at a NP week before Christmas and we got one for dh! btw, I’m not sure I knew you were a veteran? What branch? Thank you for your service!
  11. Thankfully I am well, I just wanted to wish you all a speedy recovery. I also never updated that my parents both recovered from Covid. I realize I never gave an update. My dad is still a bit weak, but improving.
  12. I hear ya.! It has been like us for some years. The best thing is that you benefit even if the hours fall short and you don’t beat yourself up for that.
  13. 2023 was all 3rd trimester pregnant/enjoy the new baby to the fullest/recovering from a knee injury. 2024 is our year!
  14. I had no idea!! I’m into all things my side of the mountain. I had my boys read them and they thought they were ok. They could care less about outdoorsy stuff like their mom. I recommended them to my outdoors loving nephew and he adored them. I know what to get him!! Thanks for the idea!
  15. Same. I think I’m just kind of naive honestly. My bff’s dad was fairly strict and pretty much kept he under his control until adulthood. He pretty much chose her career path. He didn’t let her date. He was fairly controlling. She did have friends, sleepovers, he was not concerned about tv/music and that stuff that my mom was a little more worried about. She was his only and her mother wasn’t much of one. He was the main caretaker. He wasn’t overly a bad guy, Inthink it all came out of love, but it wasn’t always fun for her.
  16. Yikes. There is a lady in my homeschool group that has given me one of their magazines and shared a link to a video on their YouTube channel. It’s wild because she doesn’t come off this way at all, but I imagine she is.
  17. He is singing some song from YouTube. Not sure if it is the same .
  18. Ds age 12 took it upon himself to memorize the names of the elements. He keeps asking me about random elements. Sure I could Google it, but I was wanting to see if there were fun books about the periodic table of elements.
  19. Bwahaha yep. How about a career in corrections? That made my day.
