Ahhhh! Hold on to that Buddy List. Good things are going to happen with the new upgrade. (No real timeframe yet, but it *will* happen. Eventually.)

Have you tried the standard "log out, clear your cache, close your browser, then restart" gig?
Is anyone using AOL?
If you use IE, try adding our forum url to your trusted sites in IE.
Other than those suggestions, I have no idea.
The search button has always been there. People have been saying they didn't know how to search the forums. We're hoping the red will be more attention-getting.
Separate, 'updated' threads for an existing thread is not how we want this board used. The 'updated' thread was necessary for the old board format because the original post would be buried. That is no longer true with this new format.
'Updated' threads are exceedingly frustrating for those who aren't on the boards enough to know what the original thread was about. Split threads on the same topic making searching more cumbersome.
To make finding the new posts easier, we suggest you use the "New Posts" link at the top of the page, or use the linear mode.
The Admins.
Hi Everyone,
We have read the threads asking for board changes and we are aware of the various points of view. We are considering how to best balance all the requests and keep the most people happy.
We have closed this thread to future posts.

Search does appear to be working the way you are suggesting. If you search "dialectic" and "math" and select the "Show Posts" radio button, you get 5 results. From those results, you still have the option to read the specific post or the entire thread.
You should know that all of the admins here use Macs.
I don't think your site issues are related to using Safari.
Which doesn't keep me from scratching my head over what might be causing your issues, though. Our site performance is way way better than it was before we moved hosting providers.
Please feel free to send me a screen shot when you have an issue so I can take a look.
Sincerely,
Bob Wise

Hi Colleen -
The read/unread thread option is one thing we are looking at fixing once we know this new forum set-up is stable. We don't want to make a bunch of changes and cause the boards to crash again. :)
