Melora in NC
It's a beautiful moment, isn't it? I have accomplished very little today, but all the fiddling about on the board seemed like time well spent when I became a larvae.

GothicGyrl
Ladies, I know it's hard getting used to it, but can we try to not do the NT thing anymore and leaving subject lines empty, instead typing in the message box? There's no need for it now, this board is just too rad to be left to archaic devices. :)~~
Amy in NH
I wanna be a larvae too! :(
Guest Katia
I am SO not a computer person. My dh had to sit with me and explain how the most basic stuff of this new forum works. Most of my day has been just reading posts and waiting for him to come home and teach me:) So, Toni, do you mean don't post in the Title box and put NT, or is it ok to post in the title box and still post a message, or.....just post in the message box? I'm totally lost with the new rad stuff, but trying hard to get up to speed and change from 'just visiting'.

I'm totally lost with the new rad stuff, but trying hard to get up to speed and change from 'just visiting'. On this type of forum, the only time one should be posting in the subject box is when starting a new thread. If you are just replying to a thread, just typing the message box is fine. But what I mean is all the NT posts. There is no need for them especially when this forum allows for us to have full conversation with quoted features and such, if I see "nt" in the subject line on the main part of the forum, I'm not going to bother replying. The whole point of going to this kind of forum, for any message board, is fluidity in conversation. The one-liner subject posts clog up the server more. If you are replying to a post and you start your post in the subject line, I might miss the first part of your post. That's why, when replying, one should just go straight to the message box. I don't even use the full reply function anymore because the quick reply function has all the same features--quote, bold, link, etc. So for me, I don't even put in a subject line because I don't have a place for one, in the quick reply. Guest Katia
Thanks Toni! That was very helpful and clear. I understand it now.....just hope this old brain will remember it :) I'll probably be asking for a LOT of help in the future. I did put in a wish to the Board Fairy for more techno savvy. Hope she can comply.
Maxine in WA
Yes, thanks, Toni. I didn't realize that about the subject line either.

Mamagistra
Hm...I don't know, Nan. You look pretty young to be a larva. Maybe you are just an egg. ;) (You never get tired of hearing that young part, right?) :D
