Michelle My Bell
I am having a terrible time helping my 1st grade daughter choose a person for her History Night project. It is just a simple board with information about the person, but I can't seem to think of anyone. I would like it to have the following criteria: Not too common (Like Abe Lincoln) I prefer a girl Someone who we can easily find information on Someone who isn't too difficult to understand why they are famous Any suggestions? NicksMama-Zack's Mama Too
when I was just a bit older than your daughter. Lot of facts available and even an easy-reader about her. Your daughter could do some braille samples on her board and a brief description of her teacher, Annie Sullivan. hth K
pqr
Princess Olga of Kievan Rus This one answers most of your initial questions http://womenshistory.about.com/od/medievalsaints/p/princess_olga.htm These give further information http://darkwing.uoregon.edu/~kimball/Xtxion.Olga.Anna.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olga_of_Kiev http://orthodoxwiki.org/Olga_of_Kiev Kivean Rus was, at the time, one of the most important European States. It became a center of learning and culture. The above sites should give you ample information for a simple board and I highly doubt that anyone else will have done this.
