BMW
that have to do with reasoning skills or decision making? Yes, this is a s/o of the psychology game thread... But, do you have a game already that uses reasoning skills? I am wondering what type of games use those... to get us started...
klmama
Well, there's chess. Mancala. Set. Are those the types of games you meant, or were you thinking of something more? ETA: Risk also involves a lot of thinking skills. Any game that requires strategy might be helpful.

Erica in OR
We like "Guess Who", even for younger kids. To win, you have to come up with good questions to ask to further narrow the field. Erica in OR
percytruffle
I love Mindtrap game (we have the original version and Mindtrap II)! I second Mindtrap! It really chalenges you to think about the question in a new way and to question all possibilities. It's a great "think outside the box" type of game. MyThreeSons
Set, Blokus, Rush Hour. On the computer -- Logical Journey of the Zoombinis!! Backgammon, Yahtzee are also games where you don't just make a move based on the roll of the dice, you have to weigh your options and consider the odds. Tap
The kids like the "Journey across..." series. It challenges them to plan a strategy and constantly adapt it to fit the cards they have drawn. This is the same type of logic as in Rummy or Poker buy in a map sort of way :0)
