It seemed like such an extravagance when we bought it a few years ago, but I am so glad dp convinced me it was worth it. We had latkes for lunch (yum!) and the kids are playing dreidel right now. It's important to me as a Christian to acknowledge Jewish holidays, and when I went to college ~ at a school where the Jewish population is very significant and Yom Kippur, etc are days off ~ I learned a lot about the Jewish faith. It is interesting to me how little most of us Christians know about Judaism. Any-hoo, the past several days I've read a couple of fun Hannukah picture books to my guys and we've talked about how this time is celebrated. Tonight we're going to eat latkes & applesauce. My German (Lutheran, not Jewish) mother often made potato pancakes, which are essentially the same as latkes, when I was growing up. Mmmm!!!
