Job Reference question

Quick question, Hive,

I am wanting to apply for some entry-level jobs within our home school district. I volunteered over the summer for approximately 7 days (2.5 hours a day) in an Art & Garden Club at the elementary school. Would it be appropriate to ask the teacher I volunteered under if I could use her as a reference, or no?

On re-entering the workforce, YES a reference would be great. I list my homeschooling time as individualized tutoring on my resume and, since I was a technical writer before, I mention teaching middle and high school group english and speech classes, which I did for several years for our co-op (for minimal pay).

And be willing to be patient! It sure has taken me awhile, but some of that is down to covid and not wanting to go back f/t.

Sure, as a teacher I'd be happy to provide a recommendation in this situation.
