Should one send a follow-up/thank you email after an audition?

Dd18 auditioned Saturday for a musical theatre BFA program. I've heard that students are advised to send a thank you email after college interviews. Is the same recommended after an audition?

My son always sends them. I think it's almost never a bad idea to send a thank you note.

I agree.  I feel like it can never hurt, but only help.  Good luck!

My understanding in regards to the people running the auditions is that they appreciate a thank you note. It's really a very old fashioned industry.

You never know when and where you're going to run into these people years from now.
