*****
Hi, I would like to have a mass said for my parents who used to go to a church many years ago before they retired to another state. I was wondering what is a customary donation? Online I see $25, but want to make sure if I am in the right ballpark?
chiguirre
It should say on the church's website or you can ask the church secretary when you make the arrangements. The amount might vary by location (NY is probably more $ than Kansas).
katilac
Yes, it is usually a set amount, barring special circumstances.
teachermom2834
Just ask the church secretary. I think it has been suggested donation of $10-$20 the times I’ve done it.
history-fan
I second talking to the church secretary. I think it varies by church as well. When I have contacted churches to do masses for relatives I had noticed the difference. The suggested amount around here was 10-20 dollars.
