Not_a_Number
We've currently gotten into a pattern of doing a practice math contest as DD8's "math work" on Thursday. She gets a prize if she gets a good score (she had test anxiety before we started this, and this really fixed it for her), so I think she's going to be loathe to give up the time 😉. However, we've currently gone through all the Math Kangaroos for her grade level, and while I'd like her to practice for the AMC8, I'd rather not use all the contests in the archive just yet. Anyone know of any other fun contests in a similar format? I'd like something that wasn't super short and more "problem solving" than "fast calculating."

How did you use them to practice for AMC 10? Did you time them? I looked at them, and you're right -- the Chapter and State level ones look good. Did you have to order the old ones? Porridge
Math League? I actually just learned about it. WE haven't tried it. DD attended a practice / info session for ARML and we heard about Math League there.

Jackie
MOEMS. One year’s test is spread out over five shorter tests. Each of the shorter tests consists of five problems and a 30 minute time limit. Depending on speed and stamina, you could simply give her however many sets of five questions make sense for her in a sitting.

She’d hand them to me to score when she finished a packet.

If he's having timing issues, I'd work on that. Right now, I'm going to prepare DD8 for the AMC 8, and for us, getting the concepts down would be the right route. But when we were prepping for the Math Kangaroo, we mostly just needed to work on her timing, since she had the concepts all down.
