Sunshine State Sue
Years ago, I stopped buying swimsuits with Lycra in them because I noticed that they fell apart quickly. Now I see there is "Xtra Life LYCRA". Is it any better? I've had good luck with 100% nylon though it doesn't stretch much. Current swimsuit is nylon and spandex and it has lasted a good long time. I may have had a 100% polyester swimsuit that lasted a long time, but I can't remember. Any suggestions for material for long lasting swimsuits? TIA. history-fan
I’ve always had good luck with speedo and tyr brand suits.
Swimmer1112
My dd competitive swimmer said that Polyester swim suits have lasted the longest, but they are not very stretchy. Xtra life Lycra are better than just Lycra, it will last twice as long. She swims 5 hours a day between morning and afternoon practices. We been through many suits.
sassenach
I don't know about material but my Lands End suit lasted for 7 or 8 years.
Spryte
Miracle Suits last me forever. I just checked and they use Lycra Extra Life. Lands End lasts forever, too, but Miracle Suits tend to fit me better. The LE suits just sit in the drawer now. I don’t know the material on the LE suits, though. Various others have all worn out. I had some cute ModCloth suits that unfortunately didn’t last past a season. Boo.
Amy Gen
For adult sizes, we like Jolyn suits. You have to find the right cut for your body, but they really last.
