Not_a_Number Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 I don't do it every year, but I'm doing it this year. Was curious if anyone else was doing so, too :-). 2 Quote
Ailaena Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 Here’s my question: Were you raised with shower or no shower? I was always told no shower, no tooth brushing, etc, but BF’s family has literally never heard of that. גמר חתימה טובה Easy fasting! 2 Quote

I've always showered, anyway. 2 Quote

NewIma Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 My dd13 fasted successfully for the second time this year after her bat mitzvah. I was so nervous for her as this year was significantly different. Last year she stayed at the synagogue all day with two friends and they fasted together. Fasting at home with virtual services isn't quite the same but she did it. It makes me a little teary that she is so grown up. Our rabbi mentioned no toothbrushing yesterday and dh (son of shomer shabbat conservative rabbi) said if he didn't brush his teeth he would be distracted from repenting all day by his bad breath. Lol 😉 I hope you all had a meaningful day and fast. 3 Quote
