6packofun
I don't necessarily want to bake something sweet, just offer a nice (slightly hearty?) snack for a friend who is coming over next week. It can be homemade, just not too involved, and enough to offer to about 6 adults. I'm ok with totally store-bought options, too. I'm just having a brain freeze. Cosmos
Spiced nuts are always a hit too. I would probably keep it simple and put out a plate of cheese and crackers, a small bowl of nuts, and some fruit.

Sandwalker
Hummus, some dipping veggies and pita triangles make vegetarians happy. Maybe some grapes or berries on the side.
regentrude
My vegetarian friends love veggies and hummus. Try some interesting variants. Sweet potato hummus and edamame hummus are popular here.
6packofun
Thanks! Forgot about hummus because I only get it on a rare occasion. Good ideas, this will help. :)
J-rap
Hummus and pita and veggies. Otherwise, some kind of a bean dip with the same, or with some kind of tortilla chips.
