BigMamaBird
I think it was last year or so, there was quite a lengthy thread about a family with several kids living in squalor. They all slept on a raised platform in a shack with no electricity or running water. There were a lot of goats. They popped into my head the other day and I was wondering if anyone knew how they were doing? I tried a search but I can't remember the name of the thread or the family. I hope those kids are doing alright.
Jyhwkmama
The Naughlers. I think they got their kids back.
HomeAgain
Yeah. They built a small house. If you search "Blessed Little Homestead" I think, you can find her blog or facebook.
BigMamaBird
Thank you, I couldn't remember the name for a search. I was getting the car started in the cold this am and they sprung into my mind and I hoped they were somewhere warm.
TeenagerMom
They bought a garden shed and call it a cabin so they got their kids back but CPS is still in the picture. They are still continuing to live in squalor (dirty property, no baths, etc) and their most recent pregnancy ended with a hospital born emergency stillbirth (remember, no prenatal care). The oldest son has since had a baby with someone and they have a garden shed too.

The oldest son has since had a baby with someone and they have a garden shed too. That is so sad, on both counts. I was really hoping that the kids were getting old enough to strike out on their own away from that forced squalor.
Lady Marmalade
Wow, I was literally thinking about this earlier today and trying to figure out a good thread title to ask this very question! I'd hoped things had improved for those kids. :(
gardenmom5
that's sad about the kids- but to them this is normal. and even if they realize it isn't, and want something better, they would need to learn the skills on how to be functional. their parents certainly didn't teach them.
