lynn
Elementary school that is. I have had a child in elementary school for the past 19 years and today is my last day. DD seems okay with going into middle school. This past year she over came some of her anxieties and now has acquaintances she now considers friends and got to know several other kids in her class so she won't be alone. My calendar is already starting to fill up with reminders for next year. Oh and DS, a.k.a. baby boy, is officially a senior with plans for dual enrollment next year and is considering the Navy after graduation.
Guest
Congratulations! I feel like I've been doing dlementary school forever already and I still have three students who aren't even started yet, but I get the feeling I'll miss it once it's gone :p That is super exciting with your son! Good luck to him as he pursues this final year and his path for the future!

wendy not in HI
It is always so bitter sweet to see them grow! My youngest is moving on to High School next year and I must be a robot, because I'm not feeling sad at all... I am excited to spend a little more time with my kids this summer!!
JudoMom
My guys are closer in age, but I've taught my last elementary student as youngest moves to 6th grade, and my oldest will be a senior. I'm a bit sad.
rebbyribs
Congratulations! My oldest is wrapping up elementary school next week, my middle child started K this spring, and my youngest just learned to walk. I can't quite imagine being at the other end of this journey. bethben
My youngest is going to a charter school next year so all I have left is my 7th grader since my junior is going to do dual enrollment next year. It is sad. All the fun curriculum is done. Even read aloud revival which I love to listen to really doesn't have much relevance anymore (yes, I still will read aloud to ds, but it's not as foundational anymore). Even if and when my dd does come back to homeschooling, she'll be closer to junior high. It's like a major life change has happened.
Mothersweets
Congratulations! My two youngest are going into 5th and 7th grades at the local public school next year but my 16yo will still be home with me. :) It is bittersweet to know there is so little time left but on the other hand it is something of a relief as I've been doing this for 20 years. I'm so glad to have my high schooler at home but I agree with bethben - all the fun curriculum has been done.
