DawnM
And it was easy! Wow. I just followed the instructions I found online and VOILA! I only made a quart to start to see if it would work. It came out perfectly. And I read recently that you can freeze it in 2T. portions and use that as your starter, so no need to worry about running out and forgetting to save some out for your next starter! A quart of yogurt for the cost of a quart of milk. Next I plan to try either soy or almond milk yogurt. Not sure if you can do it with almond milk, but I intend to find out.

DawnM
It was SO EASY! Oops, just saw that I already wrote that. I can't stress it enough! Edited September 25, 2016 by DawnM
SparklyUnicorn
Awesome. I tried making homemade yogurt years ago, but that was a total disaster because it was in the winter and there were no spots warm enough in my house.
bethben
You can keep the yogurt warm enough in your oven with the light on. It takes about 8 hours. No need for warm areas in the house. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Allearia
I used to make yogurt using a heating pad. Now I have the instant pot and keep meaning to try it, I guess I just need to do it!

G5052
I bought myself a yogurt maker for Mother's Day. Then I got a Instant Pot with credit card points about a month ago. I watched the video, and I think I'll stay with the yogurt maker for now. I scald my milk on the stove while I'm making dinner so I can watch it and then stick the thermometer in. By the time dinner is over, it's usually ready to pour into the jar. Then I stick the jar in the yogurt maker and let it go for about 12 hours.
