UCF612
My husband chipped his tooth at dinner tonight. He says it doesn't hurt. Does he need to do anything tonight or can he wait to call the dentist in the morning?
umsami
He should be able to wait until morning. Know that the dentist might not do anything or may just sort of file it down a bit....at least that's what happened to me. If it is cracked down the tooth, he may need a crown...which can wait until tomorrow morning.
UCF612
He kinda chipped a side off I think. I HATE tooth stuff so I didn't get a good look.
texasmama
He can wait. Bonding may be able to fix it. Bonding fixes a lot of things. :)
mtomom
He can wait. Hopefully they will be able to make a lasting fix with bonding. Mine just wouldn't stick and I finally had my front tooth veneered. That's supposed to last a lot longer. Hubby, though, has had a bonded chip last over 20 years now. Lolly
And, if it doesn't bother him, they may do nothing.
Pink and Green Mom
If he has the piece soak it in milk immediately. Leave it there and bring it to the dentist tomorrow. They can bond it back on if it is big enough and has been soaked in milk. When my son chipped his tooth the dentist told us to put it in milk and it was bonded back together 4 days later. Butter
It depends on how big the chip is. I have three little chips in three different teeth. There is nothing that could be done. If it is big enough to put back on the tooth, he can see the dentist tomorrow.
UCF612
Thanks all. He put in a call to the dentist. He didn't have the missing piece, guessing he swallowed it cause he didn't even realize at first what has happened.
SparklyUnicorn
I chipped a tooth in college. I never did anything to it and the tooth is still there. It happens.
