sweetpea3829 Posted June 29, 2015 Share Posted June 29, 2015 DD9 is spending this summer learning how to skip count by 2-9 (and eventually through 12). She is learning how to skip count before I begin teaching her how to multiply. This is because she has significant dyscalculia, and learning how to multiply is going to be very difficult for her. She is musical, however, and if she can learn her facts via music...they will probably stick. We do have the MUS music CD and songbook. But I'm looking to see if there are any other really good memory songs for each skip counting fact, or multiplication fact. Thanks in advance! The songs aren't any better than MUS (maybe not as good) but there is an animated presentation along with the song that is interesting. We did these, and they have a song for squares and cubes as well. I made little cards with all the numbers and she would point as she sang. Then take a card away, sing again. They have skip counting songs set to songs your child likely already knows, and it makes it super easy to teach. My son learned his sevens and is learning fours with their songs. Hear samples here (wow! total flashback on "My Little Hen" has running shoes and "The Monkeys in the Jungle" eating bananas! :laugh: ).
