TheAutumnOak
Is there an assessment test that can be taken at home just for evaluation purposes?...I would like to give a test to my upcoming 9th grader, but I am not sure where to buy one from...I am looking to assess math, spelling and reading comprehension mainly... Any advice would be appreciated!
jewellsmommy
You can purchase tests from Seton testing services such as the CAT or others. ETA: The various CAT/Terra Nova tests do NOT require a college degree or training session. They are timed tests.
Junie
We use the Stanford tests that we get from BJU Press. I *think* that the person giving the test has to have a college degree.
AHASRADA
I have always used the CAT test through Family Learning Organization. You have 2 weeks to complete the tests and mail it back. Then they mail you the results, and can email a soft copy as well.
ElizabethB
The DORA goes up to 12th grade level, for LA, it is computer adaptive. They have math tests, but they are subject specific after the 7th grade level. letsgolearn.com
TheAutumnOak
Do all of the tests have to be mailed to someone?...Is there anything that can be done and graded at home?
ElizabethB
Do all of the tests have to be mailed to someone?...Is there anything that can be done and graded at home? The DORA and the math ones can, online, immediate results only to you.
Dmmetler
Or just google "Released test" for a specific state. Quite a few have them available, and you could give one to your DC, see how they do, and get the information.
