Melinda S in TX
Dd is writing an essay on paper books vs ebooks. She has covered health aspects and comprehension/memory so far. She is looking for a third point. We remember reading somewhere that paper books were important because ebooks could be changed by the government or whoever else had access to the main copy. We don't remember where we read that, and we can't figure out what to google to find information on it. Does anyone know where we might look, or does anyone have a different idea for her third point? hornblower
you might want to have a look on the Electronic Freedom Foundation website in their section about digital books https://www.eff.org/issues/digital-books

Evergreen State Sue
I don't know if this was covered in the health portion already, but my kids had a study skills teacher who said that it actually takes longer to read from a screen than from paper. SparklyUnicorn
I haven't heard of the government taking back e-books, but I've heard of places like Amazon doing it. I don't know all the details though.
QueenCat
Do people actually think the U.S. govt is going into ebooks and changing them on our kindles? That sounds like something a fearmongering group would try to spread.
