3girls4me
Hi ladies, My book club meets soon and we are discussing The Good Earth. We have done Uncle Tom's Cabin and Jane Eyre also. (And another non-classic, A Severe Mercy) Any suggestions for next? Not too terribly long. Not Jane Austen. I have thought about The Scarlet Letter but am not sure. I would love suggestions. Thanks!! amyco
My Antonia? I was going to suggest Willa Cather, too! Anything by her, really. My Antonia is my favorite, followed closely by Death Comes for the Archbishop.
3girls4me
Ok thanks. I've never read anything by that author. I will look into it.
Rachel
I've really enjoyed My Antonia as well. What about one of the Port Williams books by Wendell Berry? There are several but I enjoyed Jayber Crow, Hannah Coulter, and A Place on Earth.

Susan in TN
Some that I have really enjoyed for discussions - The Book of the Dun Cow, novels and short stories by Flannery O'Connor, The Power and the Glory, All the Kings Men, Brideshead Revisited. Also loved books by Wendell Berry and The Picture of Dorian Gray.
