Ipsey
DD wants to color her hair natural red for Halloween. Do you have any suggestions for color treatments that won't last too long? She's dishwater blonde. Thanks!
GWOB
I couldn't find a short-lasting hair color when looking, so I just went with Natural Instincts. (My 7yo is dressing up as Amy Pond for Halloween and NEEDS red hair.) Natural Instincts washes out in 28 (random number, I know) washes. It's not a perfect solution, but my kid is ridiculously excited. Would that work for you?
mommymilkies
NOT Manic Panic. I repeat: NOT Manic Panic.
Rebel Yell
(I'm a licensed cosmetologist) USE CAUTION! Reds are tricky- hard to get right, hard to get rid of. If her hair is very long or porous on the ends (dry, old summer-sun highlights) the color may really "stick" there and not wash out evenly. Your best bet is a SEMI-permanent color. It should wash out in about 6 shanpoos. If you are near a Sally Beauty Supply, see if they have Roux Fancifull http://www.sallybeauty.com/Styling-Mousse/ROUX2,default,pd.html in #32, Lucky Copper. Or http://www.sallybeauty.com/ion-hair-color/ION90,default,pd.html in Hot Red. Jazzing 040 Red Hot might work too. Anything you have to mix with a developer will be longer-lasting- either Demi permanent or permanent.

helena
I use and like Special Effects. I'm a blue girl though... I find it hard to get rid of reds. Amazon has it with Prime, if you have that. Crud, I missed the natural part. I'll leave this suggestion incase Nuclear Red speaks to you. :tongue_smilie:

I picked this Vampire red because all the reviews said it washed out so fast and doesn't last. *snort* It's been like 5 months and my hair is still fluorescent red. I'm not pleased. goldberry
DD's temporary color is still there a year later. We did everything but chemical stripping to try to get rid of it. Just be careful!
