We're leaving on a road trip and DD found my stash of chapter books I set aside for her to read on the trip and read them all!  Ugh.  (I know, I know.  Homeschool mom problems.)

I have time to run by the library tomorrow though so all hope is not lost.  Can you please give me some great ideas of books your 9 yos have loved lately?  I'm feeling a little uninspired lately.  She is a fast reader and can read quite well.  She also enjoys graphic novels but hasn't read many of those.  A few of her favorites lately have been:

Roman Mysteries series

Harry Potter

Percy Jackson

Dealing with Dragons

Dragon Slippers

Chasing Vermeer

Amulet - Graphic Novel series

Princess Academy

Oz Graphic novels

Enola Holmes mysteries series

The Name of This Book is Secret series by Pseudonymous Bosch

The Anybodies by N.E. Bode (didn't like the sequels, though)

The Sherlock Files books by Tracy Barrett

Whole Nother Story series by Dr. Cuthbert Soup

Remarkable by Elizabeth Foley

The Emerald Atlas (Books of Beginning) series by John Stephens

Septimus Heap series by Angie Sage

and, seconding the earlier rec of The Mysterious Benedict Society books....

My 9yo is currently enjoying Kathryn Lasky's Guardians of Gahoole and Wolves of the Beyond series. These might be a bit "young" for your dd based on your list above.

Our current read-aloud is The Dark is Rising, mentioned above--dd really likes this as well. It's the second in the series which starts with Over Sea, Under Stone.

Anything by Kate D'camillo is much loved around here.

"The miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane" is a beautiful though sad story. Then there's -"because of Winn Dixie", "Tale of Desperaux"..

How about Eva Ibbotson whose style of writing is light hearted and fun- "Which Witch" and "Not just a witch".
