Help! Never texted before-how do I get the other letters listed on each number to show up?

Help! Can't figure out how to text because I don't know how to make the other letters show up in the message besides the first one listed on each number. For example, if I want to type a letter "K" and I press the 5 key, only the "J" comes up. I know it must be something very simple I am missing!

 

If it helps, I have a Samsung Tracphone T105G. I can't find it in the online manual how to do this, so I'm assuming it's just some really basic general thing everyone already knows about texting-lol

 

I figured out how to set up a text and send it, it's just basically the typing of the message I can't figure out! Thanks!

YES, press the number again until you get to the right letter.  Often it would be the capitals first and then the lower case letters.

Welcome to the world of texting! I just sent my first text a couple of months ago, though I waited until I had a smart phone to try it--much less frustrating that way!

Just press the number until you get the character you want.  The question mark is usually on the same number as the period.

That doesn't seem to be working-if I press the 4 button, a capital G prints out, and then when I press the 4 button again, a lower case G prints out, and if I press it again, a capital H prints out, but then the screen looks like this: GgH.

Yep, press the keys, but press them rapidly until the right one appears; if you wait too long, the phone assumes you've chosen the letter you want.
