skimerinkydo
I was at the store and was boggled by the many brands of ranch dressing available. Which ones are good? I don't like it too sweet. Or do you have a really good recipe?
zoobie
I keep this homemade mix in the fridge: http://www.gimmesomeoven.com/homemade-ranch-seasoning-mix/ The amount of milk she suggests is too much IME, so just add splashes until it's thinned to your liking. I usually do 1/2 mayo and 1/2 Greek yogurt. Don't use Miracle Whip. Shudder. ;)
Seasider
For a quick but homemade taste, I start with Ken's Steakhouse Light Ranch and add fresh grated parmesan and cracked pepper. The Ken's is good on its own, too. We prefer the light over the regular ranch.
6packofun
I think homemade would be awesome, but I know myself and won't keep up with it. That said, I LOVE Bolthouse Farms yogurt based Ranch (and Honey Mustard!)! Ridiculously low in fat AND they don't taste like yogurt. (I like yogurt, I just want dressing to taste like dressing, kwim?)
aggieamy
I use the Hidden Valley Ranch packets and use buttermilk in place of the milk in the recipe. My family thinks it's the most amazing thing ever. I have to admit it's pretty good too.
applethyme
I use the Hidden Valley Ranch packets as well. I think it has the best flavor.
Prairie~Phlox
I make the homemade recipe from above, I prefer to know what's going in ours.
Forget-Me-Not
I use the Hidden Valley mix too. I can't stand bottled ranch, but I think the mix tastes good.
foxbridgeacademy
Hidden Valley Buttermilk Ranch packets 1/2 mayo half sour cream, or greek yogurt and milk to thin to dressing consistency. It'll keep in the fridge for around 2 weeks I think (we always finish it by then). It is not a cheap option but we all love it.
