Anyone familiar with EF Tours?

Wow. They are still around?

I went on an EF tour when I was in high school. If I say where we went, it will date me! A country that no longer exists by the same name. :)

Had a great time, though there were a few minor snags. But my experience is so long ago, it hardly seems worth mentioning. If you want the ancient point of view, I'd be happy to share. It really was a good experience, as a teen.

Lukeion uses EF for their tours to Greece, Turkey, and Italy. I've been to Greece & Turkey with them and the guides (and bus drivers) were awesome. Some of the hotels were better than others, and some of the meals were better than others, but nothing I would complain about. They do tend to pack a LOT of sites into the tour, so it can feel kind of hectic to be in a different hotel almost every night, but most people seem to prefer to see as many sites as possible, even if it means a lot of packing & unpacking.

Where are you thinking of going?

My 9th grade dd is booked to go on a school trip with them in April. The school has used them before many times and have been happy.

I won't know until April so I can't help you right now. I will be following this thread to see what others have to say.

This trip would also be in April. If we decide to do it I will have a tough time waiting for April to get here.

My daughter is doing the London Tour with her drama class over spring break. The price was too amazing to pass up. They buy in bulk to get those prices. Sometimes whole flights or hotels are EF Tours. I had to attend an orientation meeting and the kids will have several planning meetings for their small group. We're excited.

Oh, good to know. I haven't priced out any other tour company - I can't help but compare the price to planning the trip myself. Of course my trip wouldn't have tour guide and would have much more hassle involved but the tour is obviously much more expensive that if I were to plan it on my own. But it is a good price considering all you get.
