So if you decide to delay breakfast as a punishment for slow movers in the am

My kids would be too cranky to do this and they need food to function. I think I'd set a set breakfast time and a set school-start time. If you miss breakfast, you have to make something for yourself and start school late, and get done late, followed by going to be a 1/2 hour earlier than everyone else that night. I'd also turn on the lights and drag their hiney out of bed when it's time to get up! You could take privileges away as well (such as no TV on a day you are not up at the right time.) Just my thoughts I guess!

I agree with you!   Brains don't move well here without food in the morning and everyone gets cranky.

DS17 pointed out that the first thing I STILL say to him every day after "Good Morning" is "Get Something to Eat".  Yeah, he probably is old enough to figure this out on his own but some habits die hard!

My kids have to be somewhere almost every morning.  If my kids are late getting to breakfast, then I serve it in a box so they can take it with them and munch it in the car.  If that isn't enough, tough turdlets.  They will be that much more appreciative of lunch.  :)

And have a large early lunch you will still only be punishing yourself.

We don't punish with missed meals. If you're late for breakfast, then it's peanut butter toast or dry cereal to eat in the car with a cup of milk on the side.
