HappyGrace
Thanks-I'd like a nice mix of types over the year, and not sure what lengths are good and how long it should take to memorize each? It's been a few yrs since we did memorizing and I want to get back to it.

umsami
Rumi is the most popular poet in the US today. I think some of his shorter works might be easy to memorize as well as having the benefit of sticking with one throughout time. Both Coleman Barks' and Kabir Helminski's translations are good. You can find tons at the library. Just sift through and choose one or two. Edited to add...found this...has Coleman Barks reciting to a 5th grade class: http://barrowmediace...-poetry-expert/ And this is from a 5th grade GT Class: http://blogs.neisd.net/kdelac1/2011/10/03/5th-grade-rumi-poem/

Another Lynn
I was going to add a tag, but didn't see a way to do that.... Maybe I have to post a reply first? ETA: Still don't see a way to tag. Sorry, just ignore me, LOL. :leaving:
