happypamama
I am tired of the same old salad dressing ideas and could use some new ones. We usually do either Caesar dressing, or DH's favorite, balsamic vinaigrette. I'm tired of the balsamic vinaigrette (even though we do put it on different salad ingredients/greens) and want a different flavor. We love bleu cheese dressing, but homemade is expensive. So, what are y'all using on your salads these days? (Bonus points if it keeps in the fridge easily so that I can throw it on my salad at lunch.) Ellie
I make my own "ranch" dressing. And when push comes to shove, I also just use my own home-made mayo.

lavender's green
Yogurt based dressings make a nice change. Squeeze some lemon into yogurt, add salt, pepper, and spice (I like allspice), and chopped herbs if you wish. A bit of garlic is good too, but you have to be careful because in my experience it's a lot stronger in dairy-based dressings, for whatever reason. You could make your own paleo-friendly mayo and make a bazillion different dressings with that, such as your own caesar. Learn how to use a whisk to emulsify oil and vinegar, and you can make any combination you like. A little mustard makes this easier. Somewhere I have a recipe for mint vinaigrette. It has a teensy bit of honey in it, but it's really phenomenal, especially on grilled salmon. All of these things keep really well in the fridge, from a few days to a week. ktgrok
I make my own "ranch" dressing. And when push comes to shove, I also just use my own home-made mayo. I do sort of the same thing. Mayo and sour cream in about equal parts, with minced garlic, salt, pepper, and whatever herbs I feel like. Add some water/milk/cream whatever to make it thinner.
