mlktwins
Would you eat store bought greek yogurt with an expiration date of 10/25/12 on it? It has always been refrigerated (at least since I've had it home). I have 8 of them with this date. I'm starting back on my healthy eating kick today so I would have one a day until they were gone. I just usually don't have yogurt leftover after the date on the package :-). Or...I can just toss and start over. WWYD? Thanks much :-)! ETA: I opened one -- it looks just as it should. Ate about half and tasted fine. Totally shocked. Maybe the rest that I have won't be like that, but wanted to post in case anyone runs into the same problem!!! Heatherwith4
I would, unless it looked or smelled weird.
Janie Grace
No. Two months is too old for me.
Brilliant
I would, unless it looked or smelled weird. I agree. Just open it up and give it the look & sniff test. We routinely eat expired yogurt around here, although I admit we've never had any that's 2 months expired!
Tammyla
No, I wouldn't eat something with that old of a date, but I'm kind of weird about use and sell dates.
cjzimmer1
Were they sealed? Then as long as it till smells/looks okay than sure I would eat it. But I'm pretty lax when it comes to those dates and the looks/smell test has never failed me. The only bad food I've ever had came from a restaurant not expired food at home. Mergath
I would if it looked okay, but in my experience yogurt that far past the expiration date is probably going to be a bit, um, off. And lumpy.
mlktwins
They are sealed. I will open one and take a look. I may know very quickly the answer to my question -- probably should have done that before I asked:-). I hate throwing out food, but I usually stick pretty close to the date on the container. They also don't usually hang around that long! Thanks!!!!!
