Well, I actually bought about 20 a few weeks ago and forgot to plant them. Temps are around 38-40 night and 50's day right now. Is it too late to throw them in the ground? If not, and you're like me, you'll stash them in the basement or a closet somewhere and next year they'll have rotted away. So I'd take the chance on putting them in the ground. Better they rot there and have had a fighting chance than waste away in your hall shoe closet. :tongue_smilie: (though honestly, daffodils are pretty tough. I don't think I've ever planted bulbs before mid-November, and I often don't get around to it until December. We live where the ground doesn't freeze, so it's not a problem. Parrothead Posted November 14, 2012 Share Posted November 14, 2012 Go ahead and plant them. If you don't get them in the ground put them in the freezer for a couple weeks then plant them in pots. OrganicAnn Posted November 15, 2012 Share Posted November 15, 2012 Yes plant them. You might want to wait until your weather forecast isn't going to have a hard frost. Make sure you water them. In general daffodils will spread, so if you want more you can just dig them up and plant the replant the bulbs further apart and they will fill in.
