Bug's Mom
Dd started reading the Harry Potter books over the summer. I asked her if she'd like to have a bit of Hogwarts in our homeschool this year. On Monday she discovered a Gryffindor banner on her window. Today Hedwig had a "Welcome to Herbology Class" letter for her. 2 photos in this blog post: http://thebugslife.blogspot.com/2012/08/back-to-schoolhogwarts-style.html I think that we're going to have fun with this. I'm planning to make chocolate frogs to have when we're on the train in Sept. I'm also going to be making a Monster Book of Monsters. Guest
Those are awesome ideas. Check out The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook. I'm a huge HP fan.

Element
Adorable! If you have a crafty kid, this Snowy owl felt pattern is based on Hedwig. (Not my pattern, not my blog. I just thought it was cute.)

fraidycat
That is so awesome! My kids would probably love something like this. I've done book 1 & 2 as read alouds at bedtime this spring, but I stopped at book 3 because it gets a little darker, possibly too *dark* for bedtime stories. I will continue with the series as morning or lunchtime read alouds when we get back in the saddle.
