creekmom
My oldest is doing Human Odyssey vol. 2 this coming year, and I'd like to add some interesting video clips. I've found youtube to be an OK resource, except for the sometimes inappropriate pictures that flash on the screen after the clip is over. Netflix is good, but most of the time, I want something shorter. Discovery Streaming is out of our budget. Any ideas?
lillehei
I'm sorry, but I can only think of Discovery Streaming Plus. We use it every week. This week it was the Ancient Indus Valley Civilization. There were so many clips and images, I feel it is worth the money. Now, I don't always hit a home run like that, but it has been great. I would look at getting it through Homeschool Buyers Co-op.. Chris in VA
There was a recent thread with a link to video clips that correspond to SOTW. I'll see if I can find it for you--ANyone else feel free to step in.
Matryoshka
Crash Course. Not sure how far they've gotten (they're still making them, new ones out all the time), but they're awesome. They have videos for History and Biology. They're made by the Vlogbrothers - John and Hank Green. Look for them on YouTube. They're about 10 minutes long each, full of information and very entertaining. Not for little kids, but good for 11-12 and up?
