Teachin'Mine
"The Harvard of Nursery Schools" - the 92nd Street Y vs Harvard University In looking up something else, I ran across this article from The Harvard Crimson. Thought I'd share. :001_smile: http://www.thecrimson.com/article/2005/4/14/the-kindergarten-ivy-league-the-class/
gingersmom
My mother lives in NYC and goes to the 92nd Street Y several times a week. She tells me about the nannies in car service cars and limousines dropping off the kids for nursery school. Nothing that happens in New York City surprises me. readinmom
Watch the documentary "Nursery University" if you want a good laugh. It's available on Netflix.
Rhonda in TX
Too funny. It makes me think of the playground scene in the movie "Baby Boom". :)

Crimson Wife
The Crimson article had it wrong about the 92 St. Y's biggest scandal. That happened about a decade ago when a bigwig Wall St. analyst bribed his twins in by pumping up a particular stock.
swimmermom3
Well, that's rather eye-opening or eyebrow raising. I am not sure which.:001_huh: The Crimson article had it wrong about the 92 St. Y's biggest scandal. catz
Well, that's rather eye-opening or eyebrow raising. I am not sure which.:001_huh: Or both. :scared: I can't imagine raising kids in this kind of pressure cooker. Competitive parenting in our metro area is part of what led us to homeschooling. Mrs Twain
That was a great article. How do we apply? (Just kidding.) I doubt that the Y literacy rate is 0%, though. Some of those overachiever parents must be using 100EZ.
