Cindy in C-ville
Do you all know about this? Although I'm not around much these days, so many of you were SUCH a tremendous blessing to me when we first hosted and then adopted Katya. As we (DH and me) began to learn more and more about the situation for older orphans in Eastern Europe, we also began to find out about the connection between these institutions and human trafficking. This ignited a passion in us to do whatever we can to be modern-day abolitionists. So, I posted a post on my blog today about the connection between Backpage and domestic human trafficking and include some steps we can take to put the pressure on Backpage to get rid of their "adult" section. Cindy in C-ville
I just added a great 5-minute video that clearly explains the connection between Backpage and child exploitation. It's worth a look. http://www.cindyfinley.com/2012/06/something-you-can-do-today-to-fight.html

happygrrl
I recently (well, in the last 3 months) heard a wonderful segment about this on NPR. Perhaps you could search there to hear it. For those who think it is a big-city problem, I am newly involved with a teen shelter, and am sad to report that this stuff goes on in small rural towns too.
