~Amanda~
Any obvious gaps? too much? just right? lol. This is constantly on my mind. I have a doc with my plans, and any relevant links lol. I'm always thinking about next year... and I still have to get through this year. ODD is 12 (7th grade) and ODS will be 11 (6th grade); most of what they do will be on the same level except math. Science - Elemental Science Biology Logic Stage Math - Math Mammoth LOF Writing - WWE/WWS (not sure if we will "graduate" to WWS next year, so either or, not both) Grammar-AG Logic - Art of Argument Music - Discover music Latin - Visual Latin with getting started with Latin History - History Odyssey Middle Ages stage
luvnlattes
It looks like you have most everything covered. We still do a spelling program at those ages. Have you thought about that?
~Amanda~
Oh, yes! I have the WRTR book, was just reading it yesterday. totally forgot to add that; thanks!
elegantlion
I think it looks good. We did most of Art of Argument orally. It worked well that way.
frankcassiesmom
My only thing is that I would push your 7th grader writing wise. High school is creeping up and she will need to be writing full essays with a firm grasp on strong language, composition, etc. I'd make sure you got throw WWS with your oldest at least. Guest
It looks nice and simple. That is good when dealing with many children. Do not be afraid to drop a subject if it becomes too much to handle.
~Amanda~
uh-oh; I cringe at simple!!
Chrysalis Academy
I think it looks great, if you throw some really solid reading & discussion of good literature!
~Amanda~
There's lots of reading that goes with history odyssey; i plan on having them read the hobbit, maybe LOTR, and looked at the Duke TIP king arthur thing, but may just read the book instead of doing the whole program thing. TheApprentice
Ours looks similar except we'll be adding Total Health and a couple of lit. guides to begin looking at literature more critically. I'll either use Glencoe Lit. Guides (free online) or purchase a couple from Blackbird and Co. If you don't want to to that, you could purchase Figuratively Speaking and use those topics discussed in your current readings. Your plans look good.:001_smile:
~Amanda~
Oh, good idea! I already have the figuratively speaking book, but it was too much last year :)

~Amanda~
I've also gotten a nutrition ebook to go over. Also, either this year or next year, I'll be doing that chemistry in the kitchen free course :)
HSMom2One
Does your history also include geography? If it's built into the history curriculum that would be perfect! Otherwise, you might consider doing some map work and study of the nations of the world or just the U.S. And what about art? Do you do anything art related during the week? Blessings, Lucinda
~Amanda~
the history odyssey does include map work, and we let ODD do art as an extracurricular outside of the house. DS is not as interested in art ... though we have given him oppourtunity to be involved. :)
