TKDmom
They spent the last hour crying and whining at me because everybody they know is going to LegoLand on Friday, and they are not. I found out in December that someone in our county-wide homeschool group was organizing a field-trip to LegoLand. It was the last day to sign up, and 250 prople had already signed up when I heard about it. I was feeling exhausted and indecisive, and I didn't like the idea of spending all day at a theme park with 4 kids and no husband, so I didn't sign up. I figured I would just organize another trip with our smaller co-op group in the near future, on a day that dh has off from work. The educational group price is about a tenth of regular admission. Well it turns out that our co-op had already organized a trip. For the same day. Everyone in our co-op that we know is going. And I never heard about it until after registration was closed. :glare: So now every time my kids see their friends, all the talk is about LegoLand, and my kids think the world is ending because they aren't going. I think I'll go hide under a rock for a month....

ktgrok
We didn't sign up in time either, if it makes you or your kids feel better.
NanceXToo
Email the organizer and ask if A) there's any way they can add on one more family or B) they can let you know if anyone drops out as you guys would like to go. It might still work out, if you guys want to go.

twinmami01
You can tell them we went, and it wasn't all that :tongue_smilie: :grouphug: :iagree: My boys are lego fanatics. We live like 10 minutes from Legoland and we had planned on getting passes. We were not too sure about investing in the passes since Cypress Gardens went under, so we decided to go with our group. Totally over-rated. I was not impressed and we won't be getting passes.
BlessedMom
:grouphug: You might want to check and see if there are any openings. Sometimes people have to cancel etc....
TKDmom
You can tell them we went, and it wasn't all that :tongue_smilie: :grouphug: :D I told my ds (who was the most upset) that LegoLand isn't all that great anyways and he was pretty confused. How could it not be the most wonderful thing ever created?? :tongue_smilie: I will email the organizer to make sure no one has dropped out... ChristusG
We're going in a few weeks. I hope it's not a disappointment! We're huge Disney fans so I'm sure Lego Land just isn't going to stack up.
ErinE
We just got done with our visit. The kids were wowed at first but the trip went downhill fast. We exhausted all the rides fairly quickly and afterwards, there wasn't much more to the park. I was hoping to see a Mindstorms exhibit, but it wasn't available. Guest submarines
:grouphug: I hope you can still go. Also, don't tell your kids, but their strategy is wrong. :tongue_smilie: A year ago I got DD tickets for an even that she'd been crazy about for 7 years since she was 2 year old. They only tour our part of the country once every 6 years or so. The tickets were dirt cheap, not a big deal. I wrote the date on the calendar wrong, and we missed it. When I realised my mistake, I felt just awful. I cried. DD9, who is very empathetic and compassionate, was somehow able to collect herself and tell me not to worry about it, and not to feel bad. Obviously, if she were mad at me, I would've resisted. But after such a gracious response I ended driving her for 5 hours one way to see that same event in another province. :001_huh: We all had fun, but it wasn't a cheap event anymore, not at all.
