Joy at Home
I would like to buy my mom a good winter coat. She delivers mail and her coat isn't warm enough. Ideally, I would like to find one on sale, maybe on Friday. Can anyone recommend a coat that you love for freezing days that keeps you nice and cozy? Preferably something longer (not ski jacket type). Thanks!!! Lisa
treestarfae
I would invest in a thick irish wool sweater and wool coat. How long of a coat and what style?

Length I was thinking mid-thigh or so. Any style really, so long as it's warm:001_smile: Tx Lisa
Ottakee
The Land's End and LL Bean parka are both really warm. Check out their Sales/overstocks to see if they have any on clearance. Otherwise, I think Land's End is having 30% off Friday and free S&H and LL Bean is having some sale as well and they have free S&H.

lynn
I've had this for years. I use it to walk outside in the winter http://www.landsend.com/pp/StylePage-407540_A7.html?amp;CM_MERCH=REC-_-FPPP-_-GGT-_-1-_-407540-_-407542

happypamama
My winter coat is a hooded wool peacoat that DH got me from Kohl's a few years ago, and I love it. It's about thigh length and has a roomy enough hood that I can also wear an earwarmer or hat. It's very warm, even when it's wet. Kohl's usually has their winter stuff on sale in December. BellaMama
I love my Lole winter coat. The sleeves are nice and long and it covers my thighs. You can't go wrong with North Face either. (When the weather is cold, thermal underwear is a must for me too.)
bookfiend
Yes, an underlayer of silk long johns would be a good present too.
momsquared
North Face - warmest coat I have ever owned and I am always cold. It's expensive, but worth every darn penny. Lands End would be my other suggestion, but still, my North Face is amazing. I actually get too warm in it sometimes!!!
