simka2
Are these reasonably historically accurate or way off? I have never read them. I think I was flipping through one at a Goodwill, but it read a bit like an S&M novel and I decided against it. So, I was just curious what that Hive had to say. Yea or Nay? Nakia
Truthfully, they are pretty inaccurate. She takes one or two historical facts and really really elaborates on them. That said, I thoroughly enjoy her books. They are very fun!
dhudson
I enjoy reading them but they are in no way historically accurate.
KristinaBreece
I really enjoyed The Other Boleyn Girl. It seemed like the dates were right, and the people were "real," but it was definitely dramatized.
Ali in OR
I like The White Queen and The Red Queen (Yorks and Lancasters). It helped me figure out who was related to who--how the whole family tree worked. And they're fun.

Nakia
I think Wideacre was the one I was a bit  at. OH!! That trilogy is horrid! Don't even waste your time.
Brilliant
The only one I've ever read is The Other Boleyn Girl. I thought it was trashy. Don't know about the historical accuracy.
Laura Corin
Although Bristol (my home town) was heavily involved in the slave trade, I don't believe that there is evidence of large groups of slaves being quartered in Bristol as she describes. It was a triangle trade: Africans kidnapped and transported to the Caribbean; plantation produce brought back to Britain; trade goods taken to Africa. I didn't think the novel was very well written.
