lexi
Does anyone have suggestions for a music curriculum for preschool and kindergarten/1st grade? I don't know where to even begin looking. Thanks!
kls126s
We're using God Made Music, and Harmony Fine Arts for music appreciation (and art appreciation, for that matter). We also enjoy Themes to Remember. I know others use Pfeiffer House. Hope that helps -
lexi
Thanks for all the ideas. The only one I had heard of was the Pfeiffer House.
Lovedtodeath
I like MFW they have one for K and one for 1st. It isn't much.... K is 15 songs with activities. It is a perfect fit for us though.

ELaurie
(if it's not too late :)) Discoveries in Music
GreenKitty
Has anyone ever used God Made Music? I would like to know more about it. Discoveries in Music seems pretty pricey for me. Being as we already have the instruments that would come with it.
Suzanne in ABQ
If it fits in your budget, Kindermusik for the Young Child is absolutely wonderful! When my kids were that age, there wasn't a Kindermusik teacher in our area that taught the Young Child curriculum. I wanted it so badly for my kids that I got my Kindermusik Educator License so that I could teach it to them. I taught a class in my home, to my two, and two other girls from our church. Anyway, Young Child is designed for ages 4-7. It's different from the younger Kindermusik classes in that it is cumulative. There are four semesters, and they build on each other. They teach music concepts, music notation, and three instruments (glockenspiel, two-string dulcimer, and recorder). There is lots of movement used to really get the music "into" the child. The kids all went on into traditional instrument It is a marvelous experience. If you have a class available, and it fits in your budget, I'd highly recommend it. GreenKitty
Thanks for suggesting that Suzanne. I did check our area and it is available here. Though at the cost of $200, still 'just thinking' about it.
