Something that counts as educational

Recommended Posts

Mine are independent with math, so on those days I need them to do school but I don't feel up to supervising, I say "go do math and reading."

I have a cabinet full of school toys/games for the littlest, and will also suggest the older boys play board games together -- they get very creative when playing board games as they adapt the rules, make their own rules, combine 2 games into one, etc. So I count that too.

Board games, educational games like on SheppardSoftware.com, a good movie (especially one with historic significance, and/or good music -- like Sound of Music), time on google earth, writing a letter to Grandma, art project that doesn't need a lot of help from mom, audio books, play dough, BrainQuest workbooks, nature walk outside.
