5KidzRUs
Besides the whole Monsantos side of it - I wonder if the estrogen in soy concerns anyone? I am looking at almond milk this week ... Edited August 14, 2011 by 5KidzRUs
JudyJudyJudy
When I changed my diet over 2.5 years ago and then weaned off my thyroid meds over a period of five months, soy was one of the foods I cut out.
helena
My kids are vegan. In the last year I've made a major effort to limit soy and wheat gluten. I started feeling like to much of anything is never good. I'm trying to only buy sprouted tofu. Here's the brand: http://www.pulmuonewildwood.com/plain.html
melissel
I've given up any soy that isn't either unprocessed (beans) or fermented in a traditional fashion (miso). Yes, I'm concerned about the phytoestrogens. Which is a bummer because I have some delicious tofu recipes!
Punks in Ontario
I took my lactose intolerant guy off soy a few years ago in favour of almond milk over the estrogen concerns. I don't have any specific studies to point too, but I'm glad we made the change. I still give him small amounts of soy cheese and I prefer cooking with soy milk. Oh, and we grow soy beans ever other year!
Runningmom80
We do! Mostly because if the GMO issue, but the phytoestrogen business plays a role too. My older DS is allergic to soy, so he wouldn't eat it anyways. Ps, I hate monsanto!
Tammyla
I've been off soy for 5+ years now.
Rosie_0801
We only eat fermented soy. I hadn't heard of sprouted tofu. Hmm. Rosie
