Parents and children flying-what not to do

Recommended Posts

Well I'm not for public changing but if you think the 'lavatories' are small with a baby (mine screamed when I put them on the changing tray and looked ready to leap!), how about going in with a kid? I once saw a lady take her daughter to the bathroom and leave the door open because she literally couldn't fit (I think it was a Southwest flight, and I was in a seat area where I faced backwards) so the poor girl had zero privacy.

I really think bathroom business should be taken care of in the bathroom for sanitary reasons as well as common courtesy. I have never seen a plane bathroom that didn't have a changing table.... they are well hidden but they are there. If not, ask the flight attendant where to change a diaper. I am sure they have a place.

We did ask. We were told to do it in the row of our seats. On more than one flight.
