sandalwood
I have generously been given a $500 budget by the grandparents for 8th grade curriculum. If you had "found money" like this, what would you splurge on? Throw it at me....I'm going crazy thinking about it.
Capt_Uhura
Do you need any science supplies? Do you need books to help you prep for high school?
HappyGrace
Decent microscope, etc, that could then be used through high school? Wahoo! Enjoy! :)
Stacy in NJ
more stuff, why not set it aside for some special fieldtrips? Travel and activities can get pricey. Why not use it for a special trip or class?
elegantlion
Agree with all of the above. Science supplies, a good atlas, updated reference books for high school.
sandalwood
I'm glad I posted this. I never thought of reference books or really science supplies. I thought of buying Apologia with some of it, but never supplies. Anything else?

Luckymama
Oh my word, I'd go nuts with science supplies! Microscope, glassware, chemicals, an electronic balance...
pie
wow! how wonderful for you! first things I would buy: a microscope and slides, a laptop, printer ink, and science and foreign language curriculum. Those have been on my wishlist 4 ever! :)
abbeyej
My splurges this year include: One Year Adventure Novel (something ds really wants to use) Discovering Music (we both really liked the samples and HS Buyer's Co-op has 40% off right now)
foxbridgeacademy
Science supplies or a new computer (our "kid" computer recently died).
elegantlion
Don't forget teaching company DVDs. I could splurge the whole amount on those.
wy_kid_wrangler04
I am so jealous!!!! :001_tt2: I would get science supplies, art supplies, History and Science living books to supplement. Binoculars? Microscope and slides? Chemistry set? What are you doing for 8th grade science and history?

I am 99.9% going with Apologia Physical science, mainly because our coop covers it for the entire year and we do the experiments together, etc. History... I have Notgass America the Beautiful here but I am really tempted to try MFW because I love the way the high school looks. I love the way the Notgass looks, but I am a big "beefer-up" up of things and I think he could handle more. Maybe do the Notgrass on the side for Am. History. Not to side-rail this- but Notgrass is included in MFW High School :D
